He helped me keep my short hair in check for many years until I decided to try letting my hair go back to it's natural curls with the help of a proper curly hair cut and Deva Curl products. The transformation was seamless and wonderful. Mikel helped evaluate my curls, explained why curly hair needed to be cut a certain way and then educated me on the proper products I needed to use to maintain control over the curls. It is with mixed emotions that I write this because selfishly I wish that Mikel was still here in Ottawa ON.... Mikel had been my hair stylist for over 9 years and he was the ONLY one that I would trust with my hair. In fact when I first met him, my hair was past my shoulders and I allowed him to chop it all off, into a trendy faux hawk! Throughout the year I've had many trendy hairstyles (long, short, undercut, sides shaved, hair tattoos - you name it I have had it!) always leaving Mikel feeling like a million bucks and getting compliments everywhere I would go. I have been searching high and low for someone that can really cu pt curly hair, like most folks with curly hair I had many bad hair cuts in my life time so getting a cut can be very stressful. Mikel put me at ease right away he cut my hair dry, curl by curl so I could see the shape and length taking form as we went along. He has a true passion for helping people with curly hair and it shows in his work. Not only did he cut my hair but he teaches proper styling technique and how to care for your curls. Highly recommended!

My first visit was in March 2020 after hearing about CGM for the first time and kinda dabbling in the process of it, and then Mikel was recommended by a friend as local CGM Curl specialist. Well let me tell you this was a life changing experience! My entire life I have trying to find someone who understood my curls and could give me a cut that suited my hair and after struggling for years to the point I hated my curls, I have been able to embrace my curls and am equipped with the knowledge and most importantly the CUT to make the best of what I was given and will be a curly girl for ever now!
